Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southwestern District

Drug arrests: Officers from the Southwestern, Northwestern and Western districts posed as drug dealers Friday in the 3500 to 3700 blocks of Harlem Ave. and arrested 13 people trying to purchase narcotics, and seized more than $1,300 and five vehicles. Three others were charged with hindering by warning people of the officers' presence. Two of the suspects were from Baltimore County and one from Carroll County. Sgt. Timothy Devine of the district drug enforcement unit said the operation was set up on Harlem Avenue in response to two recent drug-related homicides there.

Officer assaulted/arrest: A man, 44, who was arrested Saturday on a shoplifting charge at Mondawmin Mall complained of illness and was sent to Maryland General Hospital. In an examining room, Officer Joshua Laycock was assaulted and struck with his police baton. Special Officer Alvin Stewart, assigned to hospital security, went to Laycock's aid and also was assaulted. The suspect, accused of trying to grab Laycock's service weapon, was subdued without injury. Neither Laycock or Stewart was seriously injured. Randy Dunbar of the 4500 block of Wakefield Road was charged with shoplifting and assaulting the police officers.

Southeastern District

Home invasion robbery: Two men forced their way into a house in the 400 block of S. Madeira St. about midnight Friday and robbed two men and a woman of money, a DVD player, computer equipment, a stereo system and jewelry. They bound the victims with duct tape and plastic handcuffs and fled. The victims freed themselves about four hours later and called police.

Eastern District

Officer assaulted: Officer Shawn Nachursky and his partner were in the 2000 block of Barclay St. about noon Saturday when they spotted apparent drug activity in an alley. There, they were questioning a man when Nachursky was struck. Michael Burton, 40, of the 2500 block of Barclay St. was charged with assaulting a police officer. Nachursky was not injured.

Stolen vehicle: A burgundy 1997 Geo Prizm with tags HPD 754 was stolen in the 1100 block of Somerset St. overnight Friday.

Southern District

Burglary: A telephone and $300 in cash and coins were stolen from Used Car Heaven in the 1900 block of Maisel St. overnight Friday.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: A set of golf clubs valued at $3,000 was stolen from a garage in the 11800 block of Garrison Forest Road in Owings Mills between March 1 and April 14.

Parkville Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A 1998 Honda motorcycle, valued at $2,800, was stolen Friday in the 9800 block of Magledt Road. The vehicle was being offered for sale and had no tags.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: A chain saw, industrial sander and a roofing nail gun were stolen between April 10 and Saturday from a shed in the 8000 block of Rider Ave.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: Lawn care equipment valued at more than $600 was stolen from a shed in the first block of Pelczar Ave. between Jan. 15 and Saturday.
