Group registering children for summer programs

Kindermusik of Carroll County is registering children from 4 months to 6 years old for its summer programs.

Young Child Program (4 to 6 years old): Adventures Around the World is offered from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 16 to 20.

Imagine That Program (3-year-olds): Confetti Days is offered from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and July 23 to 27.

Our Time Program (18 months to 3 years): Creatures in the Ocean is offered from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and July 23 to 27.

Village Program (4 months to 18 months): Zoom Buggy is offered from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Tuesdays.

Carrolltown Center seeks vendors for craft show

Carrolltown Center is seeking craft vendors for its first Christmas in July Craft Show, scheduled for July 14.

The show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the mall on Liberty Road in Eldersburg.

Entry fee is $100 per craftsperson for a space approximately 10 feet by 10 feet. The first 25 vendors to sign up will get space for $50. Deadline for registration, done through the mall office, is June 15.

Arts council plans trip to performance in Virginia

Carroll County Arts Council will take a bus trip to Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Va., to see "Fiddler on the Roof" on June 9.

The Broadway musical stars Theodore Bikel and includes such classic songs as "Sunrise, Sunset," "Matchmaker" and "If I Were a Rich Man."

The bus will arrive in time for a picnic lunch on the grounds before the show. Seats will be in the enclosed orchestra section.

The bus will leave at 11:30 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. The cost is $70 for arts council members and $75 for nonmembers.

Grant applications due to arts council by June 29

Completed grant applications from the Carroll County Arts Council are due by 3 p.m. June 29 for projects that will take place between July 1 this year and June 30 next year.

The Community Arts Development grants are designed to help strengthen local arts organizations and enhance cultural opportunities for Carroll residents.

Applicants must be based in Carroll County and must conduct their daily operations, performances or activities in locations that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Commercial businesses, individuals, public school system programs and for-profit ventures are not eligible.

Awards range between $200 and $3,000, based on the size of the organization, artistic quality, financial need of the project and the amount available for distribution.

Funds are provided by the Maryland State Arts Council and earmarked for local distribution.
