Adams, Terps roll to 17-5 win

Jen Adams scored five goals and added an assist, and Tori Wellington and Courtney Hobbs each notched hat tricks as Maryland improved to 11-0 with a 17-5 rout of visiting William and Mary yesterday in women's lacrosse play.

The Terps scored the game's first nine goals and did not let the Tribe on the board until the 5:31 mark in the first half, settling for a 10-3 halftime edge.

Western Maryland 19, Hood 0: Erin Mulhern scored four goals as the Green Terror (3-6) rolled past the host Blazers.

Western Maryland led 14-0 at halftime and allowed just two shots on goal. Tracy Kessler scored three goals for the Green Terror.

Goucher 22, Haverford 5: Liz Martin and Kate Jarvis combined for 10 goals to lead the Gophers (10-3) over the visiting Fords (3-9).

Goucher outshot Haverford 46-12, held a 48-31 edge in groundballs, and won 22 of the 29 draws. The Gophers never trailed in the game and held a 14-3 advantage at the half. Lauren Manekin finished with four goals and one assist for Goucher.
