Slappo is assistant VP at Bank of Glen Burnie

The Bank of Glen Burnie promoted Deborah L. Slappo to assistant vice president in its audit/compliance department.

Among her duties will be review of bank operations for fraud, assisting with internal audits and conducting compliance evaluations and assessments. A certified community bank internal auditor, the Elkridge resident is active with the PTA and the Rockburn Commons Homeowners Association.

Brown, McMahon, Nissel, Dunn advance at MGH

Maryland General Hospital appointed Patricia M. Brown senior vice president, nursing/patient services; William P. McMahon as senior vice president, administration; Robert J. Dunn as vice president, human resources; and Sandy Nissel as assistant vice president, planning and business development.

Brown, a 14-year veteran of the downtown health facility, is a nursing graduate of the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing and holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from the College of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from Loyola College. Her responsibilities include supervision of nursing units and oversight of the operating room, pharmacy and emergency department and other services. A resident of Joppa, she previously was an executive with Fallston General Hospital.

McMahon, an Annapolis resident, formerly was an administrator at Maplewood Health Care Center in New York. He oversees facilities management and ambulatory, environmental, food, safety and security services. He has a master's degree from George Washington University and is active in the Maryland Association of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

A graduate of Towson University, Dunn was formerly with Columbia-based North American Vaccine Inc. as director of human resources. He is a member of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association and lives in Westminster.

Nissel has responsibility for management of planning, community and public relations, marketing and development. He is an M.B.A. graduate of the University of Baltimore and formerly was an assistant administrator at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Consultant Morrison joins Struever Bros.

Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse said Tanya Morrison has joined the Baltimore-based commercial builder and management company as director of new business development.

An international consultant, she holds a master's degree from American University and has had extensive consulting experience in Europe and Asia.
