Library in Savage marking 10th birthday with a party

The Savage branch library, 9525 Durness Lane, will celebrate the 10th year at its current site with a birthday party for the community from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 21.

Children are invited to come dressed as characters from their favorite books. A birthday cake, helium balloons and door prizes are planned. Magician Eric Henning will perform.

The library will present a program on light, shadow, mirrors and prisms, "Light Sabers and Rainbows," for children ages 6 to 8 with a parent from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 18. Registration begins Wednesday.

Egg hunt planned tomorrow at Laurel Woods school

The North Laurel Civic Association and the Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks are sponsoring a spring egg hunt at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Laurel Woods Elementary School.

The cost is $4 a child; $11 a family. Children should bring a basket to collect the eggs. Registration is requested.
