April 04, 2001|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

Two men, their faces partly covered by bandanas, robbed the Bank of America branch on Cradlerock Way in Columbia at gunpoint yesterday, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Howard County police said.

One of the men showed a handgun during the robbery, which was reported about 9:30 a.m., but no one was injured, police said.

A witness told officers that two men were seen holding a package on a nearby parking lot just after the robbery.

The witness said a dye pack exploded in the package.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Howard County Police Department at 410-313-3200.
