Loyola women roll past Towson for 13-3 victory

Stacey Morlang scored three goals to lead No. 2 Loyola to a 13-3 victory over Towson yesterday in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Minnegan Stadium.

Loyola (6-1) took a 5-1 advantage into halftime and outscored Towson 8-2 in the second half.

Towson (3-4) cut the lead to seven twice late in the second half on unassisted goals by senior Portia Gotwalt and sophomore Melissa Garner, but Loyola shut out the Tigers over the final 8:45 and added three goals to secure the victory.

Mary Washington 13, Goucher 10: Bridget Geiman scored six goals and Briana Gervat added three as the Eagles (6-2) defeated the host Gophers (5-2) in the Capital Athletic Conference.

Rachel Levien and Liz Martin scored three goals apiece to lead Goucher.

Washington College 10, Swarthmore 8: Minta Sayers scored four goals to lead the Shorewomen (2-2) over the visiting Garnet (2-2) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Men

Middlebury 17, Washington College 16, OT: Zack Herbert scored the game-winner off a pass from Matt Dunn with 3:13 remaining in the overtime period to push the visiting Panthers (4-0) past the Shoremen (3-4).

Craig Rentsch led Washington College with five goals.
