Laurel weekend

Three stakes races highlight the final weekend of the winter meeting. Post time is 1:10 p.m.

Laurel Park opens at 9 a.m. today for simulcasting of the Dubai World Cup and three undercard races. In the $60,000 Conniver Stakes, 10 Maryland-breds are entered to run 7 furlongs.

In the $50,000 Dancing Count Stakes, seven 3-year-olds will run 6 furlongs. The favorite is My Golden Son, winner of four of his past five.


Five 3-year-old fillies will run 1 1/8 miles in the $75,000 Wide Country Stakes. Horses to watch are local fillies Sunshine in Paris and Strike It Up and New York-based Sweep Dreams.

It is fan appreciation day, with free admission and reduced prices.
