Two 20-year-old men from Ellicott City have been arrested on arson charges after investigators at the scene of a basement fire at one of the men's homes found traces of an accelerant, Howard County police said.

Christopher Mowry of the 10300 block of Boca Raton Drive and Adam J. Renninger of the 10300 block of Pinehurst Court were arrested Tuesday after the early-morning fire and charged with one count of first-degree arson and three counts of reckless endangerment.

The small fire was reported just after 2 a.m. at the two-story house owned by Mowry's family. The fire was under control in 10 minutes, according to a fire investigation notice.

The blaze caused about $10,000 in damage.

Mowry and Renninger suffered minor injuries, according to the notice. Renninger's hair was singed and Mowry received first-degree burns on both hands, the notice states.
