Road in Elkridge reopens after work on bridge is finished

March 18, 2001

Landing Road in Elkridge was reopened Friday to through traffic after completion of a bridge over a tributary of Rockburn Branch.

The bridge replaces the old span on Landing Road between Montgomery Road and Rockburn Branch Park. It is wider than the original and allows for safer crossing of vehicles, officials said. Guardrails also were installed on the bridge.

James M. Irvin, director of the county Department of Public Works, said, "The department recognizes the inconvenience that this project has had on the drivers in the area. We thank them for understanding and patience during construction of the bridge and the road improvements."
