St. Patrick's parade to divert traffic

The Department of Public Works has announced changes in traffic patterns because of the St. Patrick's Day parade, which will begin at 2 p.m. today at Charles and Centre streets and last about three hours.

Marchers will proceed south to Pratt Street and east along Pratt to Market Place, where they will disband. Street closings: Charles Street from Conway Street to Madison Street, beginning at 1:30 p.m.; Pratt Street from Howard Street to President Street, beginning at 1:45 p.m.; South Street at Lombard Street, open to local traffic only beginning at 1:45 p.m. In addition, parking will be restricted on some nearby streets.

The O'Doul's Shamrock 5K Run will begin at 1:45 p.m. at Charles and Franklin streets.
