Telcobuy to have distribution, service facility in Perryman

March 16, 2001|By Meredith Cohn | Meredith Cohn,SUN STAFF LLC, a St. Louis telecommunication equipment provider, is entering the Baltimore market with a new 300,000-square- foot distribution and customer service center in Harford County.

The company is expected to bring about 50 jobs to the region when it opens the facility in April to service customers such as Verizon Communications Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc., according to J. Thomas Sadowski, director of the Harford County Office of Economic Development.

Sadowski said he expects the company to expand. No one from Telcobuy was available to comment.

The warehouse in Perryman is in a state enterprise zone, which will provide the company with property tax credits, according to Trammell Crow Co., the real estate company that represented Telcobuy.

The building could be enlarged to 800,000 square feet, the real estate company said. Preston Partners represented the building, which it also owned until recently.

According to its Web site, is a business-to-business Internet marketplace for buying and selling telecommunications products and services. The company says it helps customers build and upgrade their own telecommunications networks.
