The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from the police. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Lightspun Lane: 5600 block, Long Reach. Someone damaged a door lock March 6.

Old Waterloo Road: 6800 block, Long Reach. Someone pried open the sliding door to an apartment March 5 and stole jewelry and a computer.

West Columbia

Hickory Ridge Road: 10700 block, Hickory Ridge. Police responded to a business alarm March 7, and found a window broken and blinds pushed in.

Harmel Drive: 10800 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone entered a house through an unlocked door March 5 and stole cash off the kitchen table.

Ellicott City

Old Annapolis Road: 9900 block. Someone removed a screen Thursday.

Frederick Road: 9000 block. Someone attempted to break into a business Saturday.

North Laurel/Jessup

Bourbon St.: 9100 block, North Laurel. A man was walking from his car to an apartment building Friday when he was approached by a man displaying a gun who demanded his money and jewelry. The two men struggled, and the gunmen fled.

Pump House Road: 10900 block, North Laurel. Someone broke into a business March 4, stole electronic wire and damaged padlocks and windows.

Montevideo Road: 7100 block, Jessup. Someone broke into a trailer through an unsecured window Feb. 28 and stole tools.

Sharewood Drive: 7700 block, Jessup. Someone used a bolt cutter to cut the lock of a shed Friday and stole a gas can.
