Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southwestern District

Drug arrest: District drug enforcement unit officers observed a man allegedly in possession of drugs Saturday in the first block of S. Fulton Ave., arrested him and seized 27 gelatin capsules of heroin valued at $270. Christopher Meadows, 18, a resident of the block, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Drug arrest: After observing a man removing what appeared to be gelatin capsules from his shirt sleeve Friday in the 2700 block of Edmondson Ave., district drug enforcement unit officers arrested him and seized 25 capsules of heroin, valued at $250, and $50. William Washington, 31, of the 600 block of N. Franklintown Road was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Drug arrest: Drug enforcement unit officers were in the 200 block of S. Catherine St. on Friday when they spotted a young male dropping what appeared to be small plastic bags containing suspected narcotics. Officers seized 31 bags containing cocaine of unknown value. A male, 17, of the 2500 block of McHenry St. was arrested and charged as a juvenile with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Northwestern District

Burglary: Forty-five cartons of cigarettes and $150 were stolen Sunday from Belle Food Market in the 3800 block of Belle Ave. The thief entered through a basement window.

Eastern District

Robbery try/shooting: A male, 18, was in the 1800 block of N. Washington St. about 11 p.m. Saturday when a gunman attempted to rob him. The victim resisted and the gunman fired five shots, hitting him in the right leg. The victim hailed a cab to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was treated.

Stolen car/arrest: Officer Rafiu Makajuola was in the 1200 block of Greenmount Ave. about 4:30 a.m. Saturday when he spotted a 1988 Toyota being driven with an inoperable headlight. The car turned into the 900 block of E. Preston St., came to a stop and two male youths ran from the vehicle. One was captured and the other escaped. A youth, 17, was charged with auto theft and traffic violations and was held at the juvenile detention center at the Northern District. Police said the car was stolen March 4 in North Baltimore.

Theft: After a handicapped man entered a house in the 2000 block of E. Chase St. about 3 p.m. Saturday, someone stole the black leather and chrome wheelchair he left unattended outside.

Southern District

Theft: Video games, compact discs and a radio - all valued at $300 - were stolen Sunday from a 2000 Jeep parked in the 400 block of S. Charles St.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Murder try: A man, 19, was assaulted by three males, one armed with a handgun, about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 5300 block of Hamilton Ave. During the attack, the victim broke free and tried to escape, and the gunman fired at least one shot at him but missed. The assailants drove off in a teal-colored Oldsmobile with unknown tags.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A laptop computer - valued at $2,500 - and $350 were stolen overnight Saturday from a house in the 100 block of E. Aylesbury Road in Lutherville-Timonium. The thief entered through a door.
