Salisbury St. rips Goucher

Rob Bookhamer and Andy Arnold each scored three goals to lead No. 3 Salisbury State to a 20-3 victory over Goucher in a Capital Athletic Conference men's lacrosse game yesterday.

The Sea Gulls (5-0, 5-0) built an 11-1 advantage and outshot Goucher 34-4 by halftime. Leading 3-1, the Sea Gulls scored the next 14 goals before the Gophers (2-1, 0-1) scored their second with 5:31 left to play in the third quarter.

Villa Julie 19, York 10: The Mustangs improved to 1-1 with a victory over the visiting Spartans. Villa Julie jumped ahead early, scoring eight first-quarter goals and took a 12-5 advantage into the half.

Dan Velez led Villa Julie with seven goals, and Matt Russell added three.

Western Maryland 17, Cabrini 11: Tom Brown netted a game-high six goals as the Green Terror (2-0) rolled past the Crusaders (0-2) at Loyola College .

After trailing 8-7 at halftime, Western Maryland used a 6-0 run late in the third quarter to pull ahead , 11-10.

Goalkeeper Brian Nottingham finished with 17 saves and held Cabrini scoreless over the last 15:05. Joe Ellis added four goals and four assists for the Green Terror.


Johns Hopkins 15, American 8: Jamie Larrimore and Heidi Pearce each scored four goals to help the Blue Jays to their first win of the season against the host Eagles (1-1) in the Centennial Conference.
