Two from area named soccer All-Americans

Parade magazine tabs Barclay and Quaranta

Former area high school soccer standouts Devin Barclay and Santino Quaranta have been named to Parade magazine's 23rd annual All-America high school boys soccer team. Both players recently signed with Major League Soccer.

Barclay, an Annapolis native who played two years at McDonogh, was drafted last month by the Tampa Bay Mutiny. The junior forward trained with the U.S. Under-18 national team and started 16 of its games last year, including all three international contests.

Quaranta, a Baltimore native who played two years at Archbishop Curley, was drafted by D.C. United. The junior midfielder is a member of the Under-17 national team, where he leads the team in assists and is second in goals.
