150 Years of Howard History

March 06, 2001

Howard County, which began July 4, 1851, as a western outpost of neighboring Anne Arundel County, is celebrating its 150th anniversary.

The Howard County edition of The Sun will publish a column on county history and the people who were part of it Tuesdays during the school year.

This week's column, on Page 3B, focuses on the recollections of Franklin D. Baker, 87, a former farmer and longtime Ellicott City resident, about growing up on a farm.
