Eldersburg Exxon gas station and convenience store was held up Sunday afternoon by a man who pulled a gun on the cashier and demanded money from the cash register, Maryland State Police said yesterday.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police said a man entered the convenience store in the 1300 block of Liberty Road about 4:45 p.m. and asked an employee for a pack of cigarettes before displaying the handgun and demanding money.

After taking an undisclosed amount of cash and the cigarettes, the man fled west along Liberty Road, police said. State troopers and a police dog unit were unable to find the robber during a search of the area.

No customers were in the store during the robbery, and two employees who were in other parts of the gas station did not witness the incident, police said.
