The Howard County Chamber of Commerce will hold a general membership luncheon and showcase from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 22 at the Columbia Hilton, 5485 Twin Knolls Road.

The Howard County Chamber of Commerce will hold a general membership luncheon and showcase from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 22 at the Columbia Hilton, 5485 Twin Knolls Road.
Steve Walker, principal and president of Steve Walker and Associates, will speak. SWA combines consulting and seed-funding for information technology-related start-ups.
Chamber members can rent a table to promote their business for $100, which includes a ticket to the luncheon.
The showcase will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Admission to the luncheon is $25 for Chamber members; $30 for nonmembers. Information: 410- 730-4111.
Corridor chamber selects 2 businesses of the year
The Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce presented its 2000 Business of the Year Award at a dinner Feb. 17.
The 2000 Business of the Year Award, for small businesses (fewer than 25 employees), was given to Elkridge-based Marketing Outsource Associates Inc., owned by Gloria Berthold, a member of the Leadership Howard County Class of 2001.
The 2000 Business of the Year Award for large businesses was presented to The Show Place Arena/Prince George's Equestrian Center.
Business Training Center to offer e-commerce class
Howard Community College's Business Training Center will offer a course on doing business on the Internet, "Introduction to E-Commerce," from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 11 or June 22 at the college's Gateway campus, 6751 Gateway Drive, Columbia.
The cost is $95.
