Verizon donates 350 books to Kelson Elementary

BALTIMORE - George G. Kelson Elementary School received 350 books last week for its renovated information resource center from the Verizon Telephone Pioneers, a group that has donated more than 150,000 books to Maryland students. The gift to Kelson is part of the Pioneer group's "Book 'Em" literacy program.

The Verizon Foundation contributed $50,000 in November to Kelson and to two other schools in the Sandtown-Winchester area of Baltimore, William Pinderhughes Elementary and Harlem Park Middle School, to upgrade the schools' libraries.
