Terps hope for victory salute

Senior Day offers `another chance' at No. 7 Virginia

"There are times when somebody other than the coach says something, the player can relate a little better," Mardesich said. "[Williams] chooses his words more. He's really done a tremendous job of communicating with us and staying positive. The guys are responding to it."

Said Cephas: "Me and Mike have been vocal and emotional leaders this whole year. I'm definitely keeping an eye out, a close watch. We want to look good, play well and win the game. We're on a nice little run right now, and we can't break that run by not having good practices."

All of which is music to Williams' ears.

"When you don't start [in college], it's the first time you haven't been successful at what you love to do," Williams said. "You start seeing the game through the team's eyes instead of [an] individual's eyes. You become a better player and a great teammate. Mike and Ceph have seen it from different angles. They're both very mature people."
