February 26, 2001|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

One man was killed and two others were critically injured early yesterday when two vehicles - one of them stolen - collided in downtown Baltimore, police said.

Police said a stolen Oldsmobile and a Honda sport utility vehicle were westbound in the 400 block of W. Franklin St. about 4 a.m. when they collided. The Oldsmobile struck a fire hydrant before it flipped onto its roof and caught fire. The SUV hit a parked car before crashing into the wall of a building.

Andre Sharpe of the 4500 block of Pen Lucy Road, a passenger in the Honda, died a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said. His brother, Aaron Sharpe, 20, of the same address, and Jason Murphy, 28, of the 4400 block of Pen Lucy Road, who drove the Honda, were in critical condition at Shock Trauma, police said.

Police said the two unidentified occupants of the Oldsmobile fled and were being sought.
