Southeastern District

Shooting: Police responding to a report of shots fired in the first block of N. Linwood Ave. about 2:30 a.m. Saturday found a man lying in the street and bleeding from bullet wounds to the head and back. Sgt. Kevin Forester said the unidentified man was in critical condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made and police knew of no motive.

Shooting: A male, 17, was in the 500 block of N. Glover St. about 7 p.m. Friday when an unknown assailant shot him at least once in the lower back. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and released.

Northwestern District

Carjacking: A male motorist, 36, was stopped for a traffic light in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. about 1 a.m. Friday when three men, one with a handgun, forced him out of his green 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis with tags JEM 530 and drove off. Computer equipment and clothing were in the car.

Western District

Robbery: A man dressed in black and armed with a shotgun entered McCrory's department store at Mondawmin Mall about 8:40 p.m. Saturday, forced a female employee into a rear office and ordered her to open the safe. Before fleeing with an undisclosed sum, the gunman ripped out an office telephone.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A woman, 76, was leaving a store at Westside Shopping Center in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. about 7 p.m. Saturday when a gunman robbed her of her purse containing a small sum of money.

Eastern District

Robbery try: Two women, one armed with a handgun, ordered a male check-out clerk at Midtown Grocery & Meat in the 700 block of E. Preston St. to open his cash register about 4 p.m. Saturday. He reached under the counter and told them he was getting a handgun and they fled.

Northern District

Robbery: After ordering two packs of cigarettes about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Broadview Market in the 100 block of University Parkway, a man pulled a handgun, grabbed the merchandise and fled.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Theft/arrest: A Dundalk man, 38, was arrested Friday when he tried to leave Mars supermarket in the 7800 block of Wise Ave. without paying for four packs of razor blades valued at nearly $30.

Theft/arrest: A man, 62, was arrested Saturday when he tried to steal more than $200 worth of clothing from the Sears store at Eastpoint Mall.
