Daniel V. Maskell Sr., 77, car salesman

Daniel Vincent Maskell Sr., a retired car salesman, died Jan. 25 of heart failure at Franklin Square Hospital Center. He was 77 and lived in Perry Hall.

He retired about 20 years ago from Childs Chevrolet in Bel Air and had earlier worked for A. D. Anderson Chevrolet.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of St. Katharine of Siena parochial school and City College.

During World War II, he served in the Navy aboard the submarine USS Bluegill in the Pacific.

In 1955, he married Helen J. Carolan, who survives him.

A Mass was offered Monday at St. Ursula Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member.

He is also survived by a son, Daniel V. Maskell Jr. of Ellicott City; four daughters, Nona Biser of Baltimore, Mary Maskell of Los Angeles, Donna Maskell of Portland, Ore., and Tricia Maskell of Perry Hall; a brother, James Maskell of Baltimore; and seven grandchildren.
