Northeastern District

Arrest: A man was arrested Monday after district drug enforcement officers raided his home in the 5400 block of Seward Ave. and seized a handgun. Anthony L. Simmons was charged with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

Southwestern District

Drug arrests: Detective Morgan Jones, of the district drug enforcement unit, saw a man allegedly sell marijuana to another man Monday in the 500 block of E. Lynn Ave. Kenneth Matthews, 20, of the 2000 block of Ashton St. was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Rafael Flannagan, 42, of the 2200 block of Ramsay St. was charged with possession of marijuana. Officers seized $50 and marijuana valued at $400.

Central District

Drug arrest: After a woman, 48, allegedly sold $5 worth of cocaine to a district drug enforcement unit officer in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. on Monday, she was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Police seized 29 vials of crack cocaine and $100. Edith Soden of the 900 block of Carrollton Ave. was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Southeastern District

Drug arrest: Narcotics officers saw a man allegedly selling drugs in the 3900 block of Flowerton Road about 7:30 p.m. Monday. When they tried to arrest him, he ran into his home on the street and was arrested by Detective Kenneth Jeffries. Police seized a .45-caliber handgun, $50 and 23 baggies of cocaine valued at $230. Henry Dotson, 35, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a handgun while trafficking in narcotics.

Northern District

Aggravated assault: Jerome Beatty, 62, was set on fire Sunday at an unknown location and suffered third-degree burns to his back, groin, right arm and left leg. He was in serious condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Beatty has been sedated since Sunday and is unable to describe his attacker.

Eastern District

Shootings: A male, 18, was shot in the right forearm and left leg about 6:35 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of E. Eager St. About the same time, a man, 24, was shot in the lower back in the 1400 block of E. Eager St. Both were treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Baltimore County

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: Two men, one with a shotgun and the other a stun gun, entered Popeye's Chicken in the 2000 block of E. Joppa Road about 10:30 p.m. Sunday and forced the manager to give them an undisclosed sum of money from a safe.

Woodlawn Precinct

Robbery: Two men, who implied they were armed, robbed a pizza deliveryman of two pizzas and soda about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 5900 block of Robindale Road.
