The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Snowden River Parkway: 9000 block, Oakland Mills. A man was closing the Red Lobster restaurant Jan. 10 when he was accosted by two men who displayed a gun and forced him into the office, where they stole money, bound the victim and fled.

Lambskin Lane: 9098 block, Long Reach. A fire broke out Jan. 10 in the chimney of a residence. The estimated damage was $120,000.

Robert Oliver Place: 5800 block, Oakland Mills. The door to Oakland Mills Liquor was smashed Jan. 4, and several cartons of cigarettes were stolen.

Lady Bug Way: 9500 block, Kings Contrivance. A home was broken into Jan. 9; cash and video equipment were stolen.

West Columbia

Harmel Drive: 10800 block, Hickory Ridge. A home was broken into Jan. 9; jewelry, furniture, and computer and electronics equipment were stolen.

Ridermark Row: 11200 block, Harpers Choice. A home was broken into Jan. 5; camera equipment was stolen. Entry was gained through an open garage.

Turnabout Lane: 6100 block, Wilde Lake. A young man exposed himself at the entrance to apartments Jan. 7.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Kings Cup Court: 4500 block, Ellicott City. A home was broken into Thursday, and jewelry was stolen.

Kings Cup Court: 4500 block, Ellicott City. The window of a home was smashed Thursday, and cash, a handgun and jewelry were stolen.
