Amerix gives $2,500 to center that assists unemployed women

The Amerix Corp. has announced a $2,500 donation to the Caroline Center in East Baltimore. Jennifer Realo, vice president for human resources at Amerix, is a member of the organization's board.

The Caroline Center was established by the School Sisters of Notre Dame to help unemployed and underemployed women acquire the skills necessary to obtain fulfilling employment.

The organization is committed to placing women in such jobs and supporting them in remaining employed.

Amerix is a service provider to the credit-counseling industry.

Speech on Lyme disease to be given Thursday

Dr. Wendy Feaga will speak about Lyme disease at the Howard County Agri-Business Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday at the Howard County Fairgrounds.

The cost is $6. Reservations are required today.
