1 youth dead, another hurt in Severn shooting

SEVERN - Anne Arundel County police are investigating a Friday night shooting in Severn that left one unidentified juvenile male dead.

Police officials reported yesterday that patrol officers found the victim and another boy- both suffering from gunshot wounds - about 11:15 p.m. near Jacobs Road and Still Meadows Drive. Two other boys were found with "blunt-force injuries," police said.

The shooting victims were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where one victim was treated and released. The other victim was pronounced dead yesterday about 8 a.m.

Of the two victims with blunt-force injuries, one was taken Friday to North Arundel Hospital, where he was treated and released. The other declined treatment, police said. Police would not release the names or ages of the victims.

In Baltimore City

Man shot to death in Quail Street home

City police were investigating a shooting death yesterday on Quail Street in Southeast Baltimore.

Hakiem Ishmael Ameer, 30, of the 1700 block of Light St., was found about 4:30 a.m. He was in a rowhouse in the 500 block of Quail St., Detective David Peckoo said.

Ameer was a New York native who moved to the Baltimore area about four years ago, Peckoo said.
