What's for dinner?

A bald eagle eats mainly fish but will feed on rodents and small animals.

Symbol of Beauty...

Bald eagles have been the national symbol of the United States since 1782. Unfortunately, these birds are in danger of extinction due to pollution and pesticides in their food. Frequently found in Florida or Alaska, the bald eagle lives near coastal areas and riverbanks.

How long can an aerie last?

Answer: In Ohio, a nest built in 1890 was used every year till it was destroyed by a storm in 1925.

Wild facts

1. Bald eagles mate for life and build an aerie (nest) to be used each year.

2. From a distance, the bald eagle's head appears to be faetherless or bald.
