Washington wins tournament in OT

Tournament MVP Greg Adams converted five free throws in the final 11 seconds and scored 35 points yesterday to power Washington College past Villa Julie, 85-82, in overtime in the championship of the Villa Julie College Legg Mason Winter Classic.

The Shoremen (6-5) rallied from a 62-46 deficit in the second half and outscored the Mustangs (3-10) 13-10 in overtime.

Johns Hopkins 71, Brandeis 51: Steve Adams scored 23 as the host Blue Jays (7-4) won their third straight.


Loyola 80, Iona 61: Katie Netherton (Meade) scored 13 of her career-high 20 in the second half to lift the visiting Greyhounds (9-4) to their sixth straight win.

Johns Hopkins 83, Brandeis 59: Molly Malloy scored 16 as the host Blue Jays (6-4) ended a three-game skid.
