Tutors Needed

Area schools and literacy programs seek volunteers to help children and adults improve their reading skills and to assist in related projects. Among them:

Dyslexia Tutoring Program, 711 W. 40th St., Suite 310, Baltimore, provides free reading tutoring to low-income children and adults with a dyslexia. All tutors are volunteers and receive 17 hours of training and continuous support throughout their experience. A tutor meets with his or her student once a week for an hour at a time or more, for a total of 60 hours. Information: Marcie Schein at 410-889-5487 or mschein@maday.org.
