2 teen-agers charged in December robberies

Two teen-agers have been arrested and charged in two December robberies that occurred on the parking lot of the Savage Mill shopping center, police said yesterday.

Aaron Michael Lovegrove, 19, of Elkridge and James Franklin Tober, 17, of Savage were arrested Wednesday night and charged with armed robbery, theft, first-degree assault and weapons violations in purse thefts that occurred Dec. 2 and 6. Tober is being charged as an adult.

The victim in the first robbery was a 59-year-old Washington woman; the victim in the second was a 21-year-old Laurel woman.

Police said they had served search warrants at the teen-agers' homes and found evidence relating to the crimes. Lovegrove is being held on $100,000 bail and Tober is being held on $50,000 bail in the Howard County Detention Center. The two will appear at 10:30 a.m. today for a bail review hearing in Howard County District Court.
