Gaithersburg woman dies in crash along I-83

November 18, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A Gaithersburg woman was killed yesterday when the car she was driving south on Interstate 83 veered off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, overturned and came to rest against the guardrail.

Lauren Grapski, 20, of Peanut Mill Road was driving a 1991 Toyota Camry when the accident occurred about 3:10 p.m. near the Belfast Road exit, said Sgt. Steve Seipp of the Maryland State Police Golden Ring barracks.

Grapski, who apparently was on her way home from college, was wearing a seat belt when the accident happened, Seipp said.

No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the wreck, he said.

An investigation is continuing.
