Major League Baseball: Announced that Marlins will play Brewers in Hall of Fame exhibition game Aug. 6 in Cooperstown, N.Y.

Blue Jays: Signed OF Todd Greene to $475,000, one-year contract and C Darrin Fletcher to $7.75 million, three-year contract.

Brewers: Named Luis Salazar first base coach.

Cardinals: Agreed to four-year contract extension with VP-GM Walt Jocketty and promoted him to senior VP.

Diamondbacks: Announced that they will not exercise $5 million option on P Armando Reynoso and will pay him $500,000 buyout. Re-signed former Orioles P Mike Morgan to one-year deal. Named Chris Speier third base coach.

Pirates: Sold contract OF Alex Ramirez to Yakult Swallows of the Japanese Central League.

Rangers: Sold the contract of OF Pedro Valdes to Fukuoka Daiei Hawks of Japanese Pacific League. Signed C David Steed to minor-league contract.

Red Sox: Exercised $1.66 million option on P Hipolito Pichardo.

Eastern League (Double-A): Named Altoona OF Adam Hyzdu, a Pirates farmhand, MVP.

College

Frostburg State: Following were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Athletes of the Week: Megan McNew (North Harford) and Inga Olsen, cross country; Kirk Gibson, men's soccer; Sara Schwartz, women's volleyball.

Browns: Placed WR Lenzie Jackson on reserve non-football injury list. Signed OL Noel LaMontagne to active roster. Signed LB Chester Burnett from practice squad.
