PARKVILLE - A 21-year-old Parkville man was found dead early yesterday, apparently the victim of a one-vehicle accident at Perring Parkway and Putty Hill Avenue.

PARKVILLE - A 21-year-old Parkville man was found dead early yesterday, apparently the victim of a one-vehicle accident at Perring Parkway and Putty Hill Avenue.
Police discovered a Jeep Wrangler that had gone over an embankment about 7:20 a.m. yesterday. Jonathan C. George, of the 3300 block of Woodside Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cpl. Vickie Warehime, a police spokeswoman, said traffic investigators are trying to determine the time and cause of the accident.
Car hits school bus; driver injured, pupils unhurt
ESSEX - A car driven by a 67-year-old Essex woman struck the side of a Baltimore County school bus yesterday morning, said Cpl. Vickie Warehime, a county police spokeswoman.
Warehime said Dorothy M. McCartney's car apparently struck the bus as she merged onto Woodward Avenue in Essex about 8 a.m.
McCartney, of the 800 block of Creek Road, was treated for a broken ankle and a minor head injury at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The bus driver and his five passengers, children who attend Sandalwood and Mars Estate elementary schools, were not injured.
Reisterstown library advocates to hold meeting
REISTERSTOWN - A new organization called Friends of the Reisterstown Library will hold a meeting at the library, Cockeys Mill Road, at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The group will serve as an advocate for the library by helping with fund raising and community relations. Similar groups exist at other Baltimore County libraries, including Towson, Catonsville, Hereford and North Point.

Nonprofit developer gets $500,000 federal grant
A $500,000 federal grant to a nonprofit developer to acquire and rehabilitate houses in the Patterson Park neighborhood was announced yesterday by U.S. Sens. Barbara A. Mikulski and Paul S. Sarbanes.
The money was awarded to the Patterson Park Community Development Corp. in East Baltimore. Mikulski included the funds in a recently passed budget bill.
Last year, the annual legislation provided $1 million for the corporation. This year's grant will be used to acquire and rehabilitate houses for sale to first-time homebuyers and to expand the corporation's rental program for refugees.
Police identify victims of two fatal shootings
Police identified yesterday two people shot to death Saturday in unrelated incidents and said they had no suspects and knew of no motives for the slayings.
Javon Lyons, 20, of the 800 block of Newington Ave. in Reservoir Hill was fatally shot about 11 p.m. while sitting on the front steps of a house in the 1700 block of McKean Ave. in West Baltimore.
Dawn Destefano, 33, of the 7700 block of West Shore Road in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County, was found dead of a gunshot wound about 5 a.m. in the rear of the 500 block of Brunswick St. in Southwest Baltimore.
Forum to discuss land near Owings Mills Metro Station
Redevelopment plans for land near the Owings Mills Metro Station will be the subject of a free noontime forum tomorrow at the Johns Hopkins University's Downtown Center, Charles and Saratoga streets.
Acting with Baltimore County, the Maryland Department of Transportation earlier this year chose a group headed by LCOR of Bethesda to develop the property.
John Infantino, LCOR vice president, will lead the discussion, which is sponsored by the Baltimore Architecture Foundation.
Archbishop Curley High to hold open house Sunday
