N.J. men arrested in drug raid by city police, DEA

September 30, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

Police arrested two New Jersey men and seized $50,000 in suspected cocaine, two guns and packaging material in raids on two houses late Thursday that they said shut down a drug ring supplying addicts in East Baltimore.

Lt. Anthony G. Cannavale Jr. said the operation, conducted with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, "has dismantled an out-of-state trafficking organization" that sold drugs near East Biddle Street and North Patterson Park Avenue. The houses raided were in the 200 block of N. Wolfe St. and the 600 block of E. 33rd St.

Aaron Brown, 28, and Robert Moore, 22, were each charged with drug distribution and were being held without bail. An officer suffered a broken nose when he was head-butted while making one arrest, police said.
