Nfl Week 4

September 25, 2000

Jacksonville (2-1) at Indianapolis (1-1)

Time: 9 tonight, chs. 2, 7.

Line: Colts by 3 1/2 .

Vs. spread: Jaguars 1-1; Colts 1-1.

Series: Colts lead 1-0.

Last meeting: Colts won, 41-31, on Dec. 10, 1995, at Jacksonville.

Outlook: The ball should stay in the air more than on the ground since this game features the AFC's top three receivers. Jacksonville has two of them in Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell while Marvin Harrison counters for Indianapolis. The Colts enjoyed a bye week and spent that time trying to work on turnover-free football (they are minus-4 in turnover differential) and trying to devise a way to make their defense stiffer. Fred Taylor returns at running back for Jacksonville but the Colts should be too excited and prepared to allow any Jaguar to spoil a special night in the RCA Dome.

Notable: Jaguars have never lost on "Monday Night Football" (5-0).

Injuries:

JAGUARS: Out-K Mike Hollis (back); T Leon Searcy (leg). Doubtful-LB Brant Boyer (groin). Probable-DT Emarlos Leroy (calf); T Brenden Stai (knee); RB Fred Taylor (knee).

COLTS: Probable-TE Ken Dilger (neck); WR Marvin Harrison (shoulder); RB Edgerrin James (hamstring); DT Ellis Johnson (thigh-knee); DE Chukie Nwokorie (hand-ankle); DE Mark Thomas (knee); WR Terrence Wilkins (head).
