State troopers found a Carroll County first-grader unharmed yesterday, nearly an hour after the 6-year-old girl walked away from her Westminster elementary school during recess, authorities said.
The child, who was not named because of her age, walked about a mile from Friendship Valley Elementary School in the 1100 block of Gist Road to Route 32 near Hook Road, state police said. A search was begun when she failed to rejoin her class within a few minutes after asking to use a restroom, authorities said.
