Kaiser Chowdhry

McDonogh, soccer

The two-time All-Metro striker scored six goals, including four game-winners, and assisted on three others in four victories. Behind Chowdhry, the Eagles defeated defending Class 4A state champ Dulaney, 4-1; defending MIAA A Conference champ Curley, 3-0; Penn Charter (Pa.), 1-0; and Chestnut Hill (Pa.), 2-1. The 3.7 student had a goal and two assists against Dulaney and two goals and an assist vs. Curley. Chowdhry earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Chestnut Hill Tournament, won by McDonogh. He scored the lone goal against Penn Charter, and tied the Chestnut game before scoring the game-winner off the overtime kickoff, 2-1. Chestnut is ranked No. 5 in Philadelphia.

Lindsay Lauenstein

Perry Hall, soccer

The senior sweeper anchored an exceptional defensive week for the up-and-coming Gators girls soccer team. Allowing one goal all week, the Gators upset then-No. 11 Loch Raven, 1-0; defeated C. Milton Wright, 2-0; and tied defending Baltimore County champion Hereford, 1-1. With Lauenstein's steady play in an injury-riddled backfield, the Gators have allowed just two goals this season as their record improved to 4-0-1. Lauenstein, who plays for the Soccer Club of Baltimore, also has one goal -- scored on a penalty kick.
