Pair of meetings scheduled next week on boundary changes

The Howard County public school system will hold two public meetings next week on boundary line adjustments.

A meeting for parents in the northern and western areas of the county will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Centennial High school auditorium, 4300 Centennial Lane, Ellicott City.

The second meeting, for northeastern and southeastern areas of the county and east and west Columbia, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Hammond High School auditorium, 8800 Guilford Road, Columbia.

Prep courses scheduled for SAT and PSAT

An SAT and PSAT preparation course will be offered from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 1 at Oakland Mills High School. A second class will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 28, Oct. 5 and 12 at Howard High School.

The cost is $95 plus $35 for materials. Information: 410-461-6949.

Schools chief to present proposed FY 2002 budget

Superintendent John R. O'Rourke will present his proposed fiscal year 2002 Capital Budget and fiscal years 2003-2007 Capital Improvement Program to the Board of Education and the public at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the regular board meeting.

The session will be held at Howard County Department of Education, 10910 Route 108, Ellicott City.

`Greet, Meet and Eat' sessions offered to parents

Hammond High School's ninth-grade team will hold two "Greet, Meet and Eat" sessions for parents from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Guilford Community Center and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Savage Fire Department.

Parents can meet informally with teachers, counselors and administrators.
