Adam Cockey, vice president for real estate conglomerate NRT Mid-Atlantic Inc., which oversees O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA, was elected president of the Maryland Association of Realtors last week at its annual convention in Ocean City.

Cockey, a former president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors, has held several positions with the MAR since 1992.

A 25-year real estate veteran, Cockey was the state's Realtor of the Year in 1996. He has also served on the National Association of Realtors, the Central Maryland Multiple List and the Real Estate Brokers Round Table.

Before joining Timonium-based NRT Mid-Atlantic, Cockey was president of W. H. C. Wilson, a Roland Park real estate firm that O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA purchased in 1998.

NRT's network of ERA affiliates in the mid-Atlantic states ranges from OPF in Maryland, Delaware and West Virginia to firms in Washington, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

With more than 16,000 member Realtors, the MAR is the largest professional trade association in Maryland.

NRT Mid-Atlantic Inc. is a subsidiary of NRT Inc., a nationwide network of 750 real estate offices with 33,000 sales associates. NRT had sales of more than $29 billion in 1999.
