Brewers: Bought the contract of C Kevin Brown from Triple-A Indianapolis. Moved former Orioles P Rocky Coppinger from the 15-day to the 60-day DL.

Indians: Recalled P C.C. Sabathia.

Marlins: Named Lynn Jones first base, outfielder and base-running coach for the 2001 season.

Twins: Recalled P Danny Mota from Triple-A Salt Lake City.

White Sox: Recalled P Jesus Pena from Double-A Birmingham. Extended their player development contract with Winston-Salem of the Carolina League through the 2002 season.

Basketball

Pacers: Signed G Jacquay Walls, G Rex Walters, F Gerald Brown.

College

Cornell: Named Michael Burden men's assistant basketball coach.

Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference: Named David Bierwirth general manager.
