Police recover body from Patapsco River

September 11, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The body of an unidentified man was found floating yesterday in the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River about three blocks south of PSINet Stadium.

A man walking in the 1500 block of Warner St. in southern Baltimore about 7:15 p.m. discovered the body several feet from shore and called police. A police marine unit recovered the body, which was taken to the state medical examiner's office on Penn Street for an autopsy and identification through fingerprints.

Police said a preliminary examination at the scene found no obvious signs on the body of foul play, but they ruled the man's death questionable pending autopsy results.
