Comcast names Uthman to head special projects

Comcast Cable appointed Janet Uthman as director of special projects for its Maryland/Delaware region. Uthman previously was director of corporate marketing for Black Entertainment Television. She holds an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Rhodes is appointed by Millennium Inorganic

Hunt Valley-based Millennium Inorganic Chemicals hired Lou Rhodes as co-manager of products sales and marketing. He holds an MBA from Xavier University and was formerly with Kemira Pigments Inc. as director of specialty products.

Rainey to senior position at RewardsPlus

RewardsPlus named Hugh Rainey as senior vice president of sales for the Web-based benefits firm with headquarters in Baltimore. A University of Hartford graduate, Rainey has more than 20 years of experience in executive-level sales, marketing and management.

Valin gets key post at Frank & Associates

Frank & Associates selected Marjorie Valin as its executive vice president for business development and client services. Formerly a senior vice resident at the American Advertising Federation, she is responsible for developing marketing strategies and facilitating cross-promotions for the Ellicott City marketing communications firm. She lives in Columbia and is a graduate of the University of Missouri.

Harbor Bank names Linsao to vice presidency

Harbor Bank of Maryland hired William R. Linsao as vice president/commercial loan officer. His duties include maintaining a commercial loan portfolio as well as developing new commercial loan, deposit and cash management business.

Amrein and Brown join McLean, Koehler

McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond hired Margo L. Amrein and Catherine E. Brown as staff accountants at the accounting and consulting firm.

Amrein, a graduate of Villa Julie College, lives in Perry Hall and will work from the firm's Towson office. Brown, assigned to the Frederick office, lives in New Market and is a graduate of St. Mary's College.
