More than 1,000 books collected at Camden Yards

Baseball fans donated more than 1,000 children's books at the Second Annual Books to the Ball-park effort on behalf of the Baltimore Reads literacy organization, held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Aug. 26.

The book drive was in conjunction with the literacy group's Reading, Runs & Ripken fund-raising campaign, which will continue through Oct. 1 and raised close to $50,000.

Books collected at the ballpark by volunteers from KCI Technologies of Hunt Valley will be distributed to low-income families.
