Thumbs up: LB Cornell Brown and DT Sam Adams made impressive goal-line run stops against RBs Priest Holmes and Robert Arnaud, respectively, in the morning workout.
Best adjustment: TE John Jones made a mid-air adjustment to catch a Trent Dilfer pass that was tipped by LB Jamie Sharper in defensive red-zone drills.
Ricochet shot: Matt Stover went 4-for-4 on field goals ranging from 37 to 46 yards, including a 39-yarder than caromed off the right upright and fell through. Rookie Dan McGuire was 2-for-4 from the same distances, missing wide right from 39 and 46 yards.
Incoming: Buddy Ryan, former coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals and father of Ravens defensive line coach Rex Ryan, watched practice at Western Maryland College the past two days.
Trainer's room: RG Mike Flynn (sprained foot) and RB Jay Graham (sprained ankle) missed practice. ... H-back Greg DeLong left the morning workout in the final two minutes after aggravating his left ankle sprain. ... RT Harry Swayne (hamstring) and RB Jamal Lewis (elbow) participated on a limited basis. ... WRs Patrick Johnson (collarbone) and Marcus Nash (jaw) ran during the afternoon special teams workout.
