August 06, 2000

An Edgewater man was fatally injured yesterday when he was thrown from his motorcycle after it struck the rear of a car in Anne Arundel County.

John Ball, 23, of the 400 block of Maple Leaf Drive was traveling south on Loch Haven Road when he struck the rear of a Lexus at the Haven Hill Drive intersection, said Officer David Ennis of the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Ball, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown through the rear window of the car, Ennis said.

He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, where he was pronounced dead.
