MTA to build storage facility in Glen Burnie

August 01, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The Maryland Mass Transit Administration said yesterday that it will build a $22 million storage and maintenance facility in Glen Burnie. The 75,000-square-foot building is expected to be completed by December 2001.

It will be next to the Cromwell Station/Glen Burnie light rail stop, and will house part of the MTA's 53-vehicle fleet.

The MTA said it needed the facility to keep up with increased ridership. The Cromwell Station building will supplement the functions of the MTA's North Avenue storage and maintenance facility.
