A Somerset County woman was killed yesterday in Princess Anne when the car she was driving collided with an unmarked state police car driven by a trooper assigned to the executive protection unit in Annapolis, state police said.

Hazel M. Johnson, 73, of Crisfield was driving a 1986 Oldsmobile west on Route 675 about 5 p.m. when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic at northbound U.S. 13 and collided with a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria, police said. Johnson died at the scene.

Tfc. William F. Rhoderick, 30, the driver of the Ford, was treated at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said. The six--year veteran was off-duty at the time of the accident. The accident is being investigated, police said.
