The Student: Sullivan Lannon, 5

School: Ilchester Elementary

Special achievement: As a kindergartner, won third place in the K-2 writing category of the Maryland Instructional Computer Association contest. His entry was titled, "I Am Eating the Alphabet."

What he says about it: "I was happy when I heard my name on the school intercom, and they said I won third place. My mommy was jumping up and down and told my daddy that I won third place in the whole state of Maryland."

What his mother says: "I was impressed that he got third place because he was put in a group that included students through the second grade. He beat out some 8-year-olds. His daddy was so proud of him and glowing with pride."

His interests: "I like to play T-ball every week with my best friends. Mom says I'm good at it."
